After my stop in Palmerston North, I drove towards Wellington along the coast.
It was a beautiful drive, but there weren’t any opportunities for pictures.
I spent three days in Wellington, which definitely deserves the name, Windy Wellington. Two of those days were spent in the Te Papa Museum, which is worthwhile to check out. It touches on a lot of different topics, from the geological history of New Zealand to New Zealand’s part in World War 1.

But I was excited to go to the South Island and then I could finally board the ferry.

After a final look on Wellington, we made our way towards Picton.

The three hours flew by rather quick and, although it was very windy, it was a smooth passage.
After some time, the ferry sailed into the Marlborough Sounds and we crossed ways with another ferry.

After I got off the ferry, I drove towards a campground, where I stayed for the night.
The next day greeted me with lovely weather and I woke up in time, to see one of the many ferries, which cross between Wellington and Picton.

The landscape around Picton is stunning and I plan to do some hiking in the next days.
I will post some of them in the next blog post, of course!
Until then,
Cheers!
